Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 1 serving

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Frozen mango chunks
  • 1/2 cup Pineapple chunks fresh or frozen
  • 1 small Frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup Coconut milk or almond milk, oat milk, or water
  • 1/2 cup Ice cubes optional, if using fresh fruit or for extra chill

Method

  1. Gather Your Ingredients: Start by making sure you have all your frozen mango, pineapple, and banana chunks ready. Measure out your coconut milk and have a few ice cubes on standby if you plan to use them. It’s always easier when everything is prepped before you begin.
  2. Add Frozen Fruits to Blender: Place all your frozen mango chunks, pineapple chunks, and the frozen banana pieces into the jug of your high-speed blender first. Starting with the frozen ingredients at the bottom helps your blender's blades grab onto them more easily.
  3. Pour in the Liquid: Now, pour your chosen liquid, whether it's coconut milk, almond milk, or water, over the frozen fruit. If you're adding ice cubes for extra chill or thickness, toss them in now as well. Ensure the liquid covers at least half of the frozen ingredients to help with blending.
  4. Blend Until Smooth: Secure the lid on your blender and start blending on a low setting, gradually increasing to high speed. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy, with no visible chunks of fruit remaining. You might need to pause and scrape down the sides of the blender with a spatula if the mixture is too thick to circulate.
  5. Adjust Consistency if Needed: Take a look at your smoothie's texture. If it's too thick for your liking, add a splash more liquid (milk or water) one tablespoon at a time and blend again until you reach your desired consistency. If you prefer it even thicker, like a smoothie bowl, add a few more frozen fruit pieces or ice cubes and blend again until it’s perfectly spoonable.
  6. Serve Immediately: Pour your freshly blended mango pineapple smoothie into a glass or a bowl. Give it a quick taste, and enjoy its refreshing tropical flavors right away. Smoothies are always best enjoyed fresh to preserve their texture and maximum nutrients.

Notes

For the best results, always use frozen fruit as your primary base for a thick, cold, and creamy smoothie. If using fresh fruit, add a generous amount of ice cubes. A good quality high-speed blender is recommended for a silky-smooth consistency. Adjust sweetness with a teaspoon of maple syrup, agave nectar, or a pitted Medjool date if your fruit isn't very ripe or if you prefer it sweeter. To adjust consistency, add more liquid to thin or more frozen fruit/ice to thicken. Smoothies are best enjoyed immediately. If storage is necessary, pour into an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 4 hours; stir or shake well before serving.
