Total Time 3 minutes
Servings: 1 glass

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1/2 cup fresh pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 small frozen banana cut into pieces if large
  • 1 1/4 cup coconut milk or other non-dairy milk
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

Method

  1. First, make sure all your ingredients are ready and measured out. This includes your ¾ cup of frozen mango chunks, ½ cup of fresh pineapple chunks, ½ small frozen banana (cut into pieces if large), 1¼ cup of coconut milk, and ½ cup of ice cubes.
  2. Carefully add all of the measured ingredients into the jug of your blender. It's recommended to start with the liquid first to help the blades move more freely. Pour in the coconut milk, then add the frozen mango, fresh pineapple, frozen banana, and finally, the ice cubes on top.
  3. Secure the lid on your blender and start blending on a low speed, gradually increasing to a high-speed setting. Blend continuously until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. You might need to stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula a couple of times to ensure everything is incorporated. Aim for a uniform, thick consistency without any chunky bits of fruit or ice remaining.
  4. If your smoothie is too thick, add a splash more coconut milk or water (about a tablespoon at a time) and blend again until you reach your desired consistency. If you prefer it even thicker (like a smoothie bowl), add a few more ice cubes or a small amount of extra frozen fruit and blend again.
  5. Pour your freshly blended Mango Pineapple Smoothie into a glass and serve it immediately to enjoy it at its freshest and coldest. It's best enjoyed right after blending to capture all its vibrant flavor and creamy texture.

Notes

For the best results, always prioritize using frozen fruit for a wonderfully thick and creamy texture without diluting flavor. Adjust liquid carefully, adding slowly until desired consistency is reached. Blending liquid first, followed by softer fruits and then frozen items, helps the blender work more efficiently. Serve immediately for optimal freshness. To thicken, add more frozen fruit or ice, or chia seeds/oats. To thin, add more liquid. You can use fresh fruit, but compensate with extra ice. Variations include adding chia/hemp/flax seeds, protein powder, fresh ginger, mint, turmeric, maple syrup, agave, or dates for sweetness. Experiment with orange juice or plain yogurt for different flavors or added benefits. Great toppings for a smoothie bowl include shredded coconut, granola, sliced nuts, nut butter, or fresh fruit.
